Meadowlands photo Las Vegas What is it about racing that invites the old?
How to get more people and therefore more bettors to show up at the track is an eternal challenge.
Which brings me to the news that came out of California this week.
If about 1 million valid signatures are collected by early summer, the ballot question would ask voters next fall if they want to let tribal casinos and, yes, racetracks offer sports gambling.
In return the bank statement government would get 10 percent of the hold.
But here is the big problem.
The proposal will not allow sports betting on line or through mobile apps.
How is that working out in New York?
Granted, no one in that rather share remote gambling act gazette important place known as New York City is going out of the way to traipse up the thruway to bet at places like Tioga Downs.
But that is just the point.
How many betting dollars are being left on the table or under it, off shore because those casinos are not allowed to offer a wagering app that would be available anywhere in the state?
New Jersey figured it out.
Go to Monmouth Park or the Meadowlands, load a sports-betting app there, and bet like crazy or responsibly anywhere from Sussex County to the tip of Cape May.
That actually might put a dent into the liability for the recent opening of American Dream, that painted-over eyesore that began as Xanadu.
The point is that we live in an era when retail stores made of bricks and mortar the materials, not the horse are an endangered species, and when NFL teams are struggling to keep the in-person, stadium experience competitive with the growing popularity of the sofa and HDTV.
In the more sustained era of expanded wagering choices, racing is already marginalized.
Trying to convince California bettors to show up at a track or even a sports book to bet on NFL games every week or baseball and NBA games every night is foolhardy, especially in a state where driving through traffic to get groceries might soon require the hiring of a babysitter.
That sound we all heard from the Caribbean this week was the gale of laughter at the thought anyone would be willing to abandon their off-shore gambling app, get in a California line and then get shut out of a wager that the Rams would outscore their opponent by three points in the second half.
Or to wait for a ticket clerk to punch in an in-game bet on the Lakers only to learn that particular live spread had already come and gone.
Here is what makes the tribal proposal even more myopic and hypocritical.
Maybe it is to provide the illusion of added integrity.
By the way, this dichotomy is similar to what we are stuck with in Nevada, where ADWs are supposedly verboten while sports-betting apps are legal.
Talk about dishing it out and not being able to take it.
The idea that sports gambling should be offered in California without allowing apps is as silly an idea as installing more pay phones to get people to put down their cells.
Here is a crazy idea.
Why not allow ADWs that already operate in existing partnerships with racetracks to extend their businesses to Indian casinos so that they may all offer sports gambling?
There would be more revenue streams, meaning more money for the casinos, the racetracks, the ADWs and, dare I say, the state of California.
If there is one thing that we have learned in the 18 months since the Supreme Court scrapped PASPA, it is that state governments and even tribal bureaucrats will pass laws and policies that demonstrate an insistence that they know more than veteran bookmakers here in Nevada.
Good luck to them, I said, sighing.
The other Baffert High Velocity 5-2 gets Drayden Van Dyke after he won his debut last month with apprentice Jean Diaz riding.
A strong workout Monday and the possibility of slightly longer odds makes Source Velocity my choice with the long shot Rager 12-1 jumping in to separate him from Thousand Words.
The field of 10 is frankly subpar for a graded stakes that is almost completely devoid of speed.
On paper and on what should be dry turf on a 45-degree day Get Western should win this leading from gate to wire.
If I bet this race he will be my key horse.
Suffice it to say, I will be looking at the live gambling casino near jasper al before I even consider betting this one.
It is easily the best argument I have read in the debate over whether racing should be suspended or banned in the wake of horse deaths during the past 10?

{INSERTKEYS}For the first time since the state enacted kindergarten legislation in 1891, California children have to be 5 years old by Sept.
The new cutoff date follows years of efforts in the state Legislature to move the date students were eligible for kindergarten with a Sept.
The others have earlier or later cutoff dates, or leave it up to local school districts to decide.
These are children who were previously eligible to enroll in regular kindergarten even though they had not yet turned 5.
They can now attend transitional kindergarten, and then enroll in regular kindergarten the following year.
However, the new age requirement has not settled the more complex question: Is a fixed cutoff date the best way to determine which children are ready for kindergarten?
In fact, the minimum age for kindergarten has been a subject of considerable debate for more than a century.
Over the years California lawmakers have tinkered with the kindergarten entry age at least nine times, according to by the California Research Bureau.
Especially during the preschool years, there are significant developmental differences among children.
For example, Stipek pointed to a major gap in language skills between children from poor and middle-income backgrounds as early as 18 months a difference tied to a range of factors, including how much time parents or caregivers are able to read and talk to a child.
Over the past decade the number of kindergartners in California schools climbed by more than 50,000, an increase of about 10 percent of total kindergarten enrollments.
In 1992, for example, then-Gov.
Pete Wilson triggered a when he proposed rolling back the start date to Sept.
The transitional kindergarten program came about as a result of legislation introduced four years ago click at this page then-state Sen.
Joe Simitian, D-Palo Alto but not for budgetary reasons.
She said she had noticed that the younger children in her classroom struggled with all-day kindergarten: They needed nap time, help with going to the toilet and they had difficulty separating from their parents.
She feared that their lack of readiness would become even more of an issue with the introduction of the more demanding Common Core academic standards now being implemented something gambling buzzwords really California schools.
The transitional kindergarten program effectively an extra grade of public schooling offered free of charge to some 4-year-olds was introduced gradually over the past three years, first in 2012-13 for children turning 5 in November, then in 2013-14 for those turning 5 in October, and this year for all those turning five after Sept.
The state estimates that roughly 134,000 children have enrolled in transitional kindergarten this school year.
One major attraction of transitional kindergarten is the financial relief it offers parents like herself, Hooper said.
In the transitional kindergarten class at Zaida T.
Half have never set foot in a preschool setting, many are English learners, and a few are way ahead of the curriculum Jean is teaching.
On a recent morning, Jean read a story about saving a beached whale to her students, who squirmed or sat cross-legged on a carpet in front of her.
Her experience underscored the challenge of finding just the right fit for children at varying skill levels.
She said her daughter told her during the first week of school that she practiced writing her name a skill she had acquired at the beginning of preschool the previous year.
Vivian Hong experienced the issue as both a teacher and a parent.
Hong is a first-grade teacher at Junipero Serra Elementary School, and has twin children a boy and a girl who attended transitional kindergarten last year.
Their birthday is Nov.
She is not so sure a birthdate is the right way to determine when a student is ready for a particular grade.
While research shows that, in general, delaying entry to kindergarten results in improved academic performance later on, there are other variables that enter into the equation.

I tried enrolling him in an LAUSD or charter for TK this year but because he is 18 days short of the cut off date they did not allow me to enroll him.
I did find a private that accepted him for TK.
I recommend you ask about the option for expanded TK.
Otherwise, your child will be eligible for kindergarten in Fall 2020.
Is this why kindergarten is not required by California state law.
The dates seem to be very arbitrary.
He refuses to go now when he was excited in the beginning.
My niece falls into the Sept.
My sister in law is not happy because she knows her daughter is not ready for that class.
She is trying to put her in the 3-4 year-old-class and have her do that first, then the 4-5 Is there any way to opt out of the TK program at all?
My niece falls into the Sept.
My sister in law is not happy because she knows her daughter is not ready for that class.
Looks like you may know a little more than us and we would be forever grateful!
This should be something available to most if not all four year olds.
I also find it offensive that poor families gain from this because they can't afford childcare or preschool.
Most people have a hard time pulling in the money for preschool.
This should be something available to most if not all four year olds.
Most people have a hard time pulling in the money for preschool.
More people would gladly help fund programs that everyone can gain from not just a small percentage of kids.
Good idea but poorly put together.
I've got 2 grown children who would've fallen just on the wrong side of the new Sept 1st cut off, both of whom excelled both scholastically and socially.
The TK students should have some kind of test to determine their level.
I have been sending my daughter to pre-k school since she was 3 and at age 5 she is still going to do the same thing over and over again!
I think children whose birthdays fall between the September 2 and December 1 should be tested to see where they should be placed!
My son is very smart; he knows how to count to 25 already and knows his ABCs.
He is currently learning how to write his name!

My son is very smart; he knows how to count to 25 already and knows his ABCs.
He is currently learning how to write his name!
Most children coming into kindergarten already know how to write their name and count beyond 25.
The expectations of kindergarten are far different and children are expected to be reading by the end of kindergarten.
My son turn 5 on Sept 2nd, I live in Florida.
What can I do!!!
When you have a child that starts to school say when they are after a deadline.
They wind up being ahead of there peers but behind the kids they are attending class with.

When you have a 15 year The thing most people do not understand is, the problem is not just a learning educational thing.
When you have a child that starts to school say when they are after a deadline.
They wind up being ahead of there peers but behind the kids they are attending class with.
When it comes to social stature and laws when they become a teen, they are left behind.
When you have a 15 year old junior in high school dating an 18 year old senior.
Well then you have a grave issue.
Most states call that statutory rape when things happen that should not but do.
My advice is leave your child back.
Better to be the smartest in class and one of the older ones, than one of the preyed upon victims of older kids when yours is doing nothing but just simply trying to fit in.
This usually comes down to dollars and cents.
The kids are the ones that suffer worse in middle school and especially high school when everyone is driving and they are 14 and a sophomore.
It goes down hill from there, cause mom I just want to fit in!
I am sorry I am pregnant!
Why do I know?
Because I have lived it with a step daughter and watched my guidance counselor mother deal with it for years.
She was plenty smart enough to handle the lessons but not the pressures from older peers she would have been made to deal with.
In more info, very few schools are large enough to have a full pre-K class, so guess where those "younger, not-quite-ready-for-kindergarten" kids are?
However, the end result is the same as it was before TK: those students who are ready for first grade move to first grade, and those who are not are held back in kindergarten.
Since TK only serves a quarter of students with an extended year of preschool, that money would be better spent on all 4-year olds, giving all students access to some sort of a pre-K program, not just those born in Sept-Nov.
This child is now a successful straight-A high school student in Advanced Placement and Honors classes.
Some students are ready for school at 4; some are ready at 6.
Asian Americans expect every child they have to succeed, and this is why more do.
They send 60% to Kindergarten prepared in math, reading and writing, as compares to just 16% of white kids and even lower percentages for other groups.
Most children can thrive in Kindergarten if they are well parented and have high expectations.

Most children can thrive in Kindergarten if they are well parented and have high expectations.
The every kid is different is kind of like the nine intelligences argument.
How do you know?
Did you drive them to their maximum potential, spend evenings and weekends working with them, get them tutors at a young age, turn off the TV and read to them and teach them to read, buy workbooks for them instead of XBoxes and Playstations?
The fact that Asians are wiping the floor with whites in academic click here over 3.
We have to ask the more difficult question.
Why are some ready and others not?
We also have to ask, what can we do to learn from the parents of those kids who are ready and encourage all parents to be more like those parents?
We need to analyze who is ready for Kindergarten and why that is.
It also requires an open mind.
The survival of all Californians, 85% of whom are not Asian American, depends on emulating the performance leaders, not making lame excuses.
Over the past 15 years, a curriculum more appropriate for 1st graders has been steadily and systematically pushed down into kindergarten classrooms by district administrators, school boards, and educational publishers who often know very little about developmentally appropriate early childhood curricula, classroom environments, and instructional practice.
It is based on our misguided anti-intellectual culture which expects less of children than European or Asian nations leaving us in the dust.
I hear constantly from people that young kids aren't ready to read, memorize things, learn mash, learn from flashcards, etc.
However this is false.
In California, 60% of Asian American children start Alan, expert opinion on what Kindergarteners are capable of is in fact far from expert.

In California, 60% of Asian American children start kindergarten knowing basic reading, business in russian sight words, counting to 100, etc.
Only 16% of whites do.
This head start lasts and instills a sense that school is very important.
By ages 11-17, Asian American kids study 13.
We are too soft on our kids and we pay the price later.
These figures would be even stronger if focused on Chinese, Indian and Korean Americans, as the Asian American umbrella includes some groups who are roughly equivalent to lower performing whites, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Hmongs all slightly outperform whites, but not by much.
This proves what is possible.
If we hold our kindergarteners to a higher level of expectation and require a stronger effort, we will close the achievement gap and have a better future.
Asian Americans have proved children are capable of a lot more than most of us think.
This is why their performance is ignored by most adherents of the status quo.
You will claim asking more of kindergarteners is disproved by science somehow, but then ignore the 60%, 13.
Do you ever tired of repeating hour by hour, day by day, week by week the same tired old statistics that you have no source for and which do nothing to prove anything except that you are nothing but an overstuffed bag of hot air?
I don't believe that Kindergarteners are not ready to read.
I believe telling them they're too young instills bad habits and excuses.
Can you explain, if it is impossible for 4-year olds to learn, why some ethnic groups have them prepared at 60%?
Can you explain, if it is impossible for 4-year olds to learn, why some ethnic groups have them prepared at 60%?
Surely some Asians are recent immigrants or not the best parents.
You have a habit of not processing information which is not convenient.
Your idea of proof as anything anybody says that you agree with.
In contrast, 16 percent of whites surveyed taught their preschoolers those basic skills.

What could California do if it took visit web page funds and allocated them through some other mechanism, perhaps the state preschool or childcare programs or other means?
I wonder if we might be able to afford universal preschool for all?
A few years back, Governor Brown proposed repealing the program, but was hounded back by Pre-K advocates.
It will be interesting to see if he has this web page chutzpah to take the issue up again this coming year when he no longer needs to worry about their support at the ballot box and is more free to pursue good policy.
If it is advisable for some, it should be available to all.
Note also that both TK and K are still optional.
As a result, the law also changed the entry age for 1st grade.
By age 15, those who had more progressive preschool instruction reported half as much delinquency as those who had received more conventionally rigorous academic training.
By 23, those who had been taught according to a more child-centric paradigm demonstrated fewer felony arrests, less emotional impairment and more aspiration to higher learning.
How they will nurture the distinct kind of teaching skill required to execute play-based learning successfully is yet another.
However, you missed one component of the law.
Ed code 48000 also states that a student who has attained the age of five at any time during the school year may be admitted to kindergarten on a case by case basis.
In other words, students who are well beyond transitional kindergarten levels and do not meet the age criteria can be admitted to a regular kindergarten class.

Is it any surprise that the motive behind the new policy is driven by standardized testing?

If people just do the basics and no one really works hard, those with college educated mothers and a high income will do fine, but those without educated parents will for the most part be in low wage jobs.

Australia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Taiwan, Singapore, New Zealand, just to name a few.
These nations have higher happiness and some have higher incomes than we do.
The only drawback is the birth rate may get unsustainably low, which should be avoided if possible.
Overall these are all nations pretty equal to the U.
He chooses to press for his own children to attend the single most elite school in San Francisco that is also one of the least integrated.
It is common for preachy loudmouths to be the biggest hypocrites.
My kids actually make Lowell more diverse, something Don forgets.
I support integrating schools by limiting attending West Side schools to those who are truly disadvantaged, while the current system allows East Siders who are upper middle class and white and Asian to use a gimmick to get into West Side article source, the algorithm trick.
My kids actually make Lowell more diverse, something Don forgets.
I support integrating schools by limiting attending West Side schools to those who are truly disadvantaged, while the current system allows East Siders who are upper middle class and white and Asian to use a gimmick to get into West Side schools, the algorithm trick.
It really advantages them because if you know the tricks, you can get in and parents for public schools advises those who are connected enough to come to events they put on how to do so.
I also support creating more awareness of the standards of Lowell and offering more opportunity.
This would integrate the school more but also not have the problem when I went there as well as to Cal, of building up many L and AA students and then having quite a few leave by flunking out or dibeing discouraged and leaving.
I believe in neighborhood schools with capacity building and gerrymandering to create integration, and this is what SF did before 1999.
I grew up in such a system and went to a very integrated school on the West Side.
Nevertheless Don periodically gets ad hominem and tries to censore me by saying I have no right to talk about social justice unless I immediately put my kids in a school costing me huge money and time and far from home.
This is an old fashioned means of censorship and limitation.
It reduces those click at this page can speak out.
No one who drives a car can fight for the bullet train.
I do want the schools to allow locals for environmental reasons and have busing to cause integration.
Without Lowell many middle schoolers would not work as hard and we would not be as high performing.
Caste is a deep issue, with many elements we must work on.
We know each other.
I know that you press to get your kids into Lowell because it is a good school.
That's the same reason why Floyd, you can do every dance and make every excuse but it still does not explain why, though you have every opportunity, you refuse to have your children attend the under performing and heavily black and Latino schools that you complain other families refuse to attend.
We know each other.
I know that you press to get your kids into Lowell because it is a good school.
The only difference is that you are calling them racist for doing what you do.
This phony excuse that you are helping to integrate one of the best schools in America is utter garbage.
You are a white man and your children are growing up in an upper middle class neighborhood.
If you want to do your duty as you describe it to others, send your kids to school where their high performance will help to lift up the school.
You know that under 10% of whites in the state have kids in schools over 30% black and Latino, which is half the state percentage.
Therefore you can make over 90% "zip it" and it becomes a non-issue no one discusses.
You don't believe isolation is a problem so you want no one to talk about it.
You know that under 10% of whites in the state have kids in schools over 30% black and Latino, which is half the state percentage.
In fact, in 1984, Orwell would have proposed reducing it to one word for simplicity.
No one cares where our kids go to school.
This is a political debate.
Any mention of personal situations is a fallacy ad hominem anyways.
I know lots of people who oppose zoning for chains but have been to a chain in the past year.
Cutting off debate this way is always an ad hominem fallacy and very Orwellian.
If you are a great debater, you should be able to argue your point without resorting to gimmicks and fallacies.
If you feel we should not be concerned with segregation at all, argue that point.
And by current law, half Latinos, and my kids do have a mother who was not a college graduate and ran past the border with one AA, adopted and disadvantaged, so statistically I am integrating the schools.
Save yourself the embarrassment.
Our kids, for decades now, have gone on to continue education at the highest ranked university system in the world.
A good part of that "ranking" is the effort put in by those from other areas in the world to get into that university system.
Our kids, for decades now, have gone on to continue education at the highest ranked university system in the world.
Other kids go on to join the most competitive and most productive workforce in the world.
To the extent the US economy, and productive capacity of the workforce, has declined since the onset of the recession that can be directly traced to terrible decisions made by the financial sector and even worse decisions by those in government who dismantled the regulatory system of the financial sector that could have kept the wild gambling learn more here Wall Street in check.
The canards about US performance on international tests are rampant.
US winnings on oregon tax gambling that have 10% or fewer student on free-and-reduced lunch are tops in the world on those tests.
Schools with 25% or fewer are equal to top scoring countries.
Those countries also tend to have child poverty rates that are a fraction of the US rate, have cradle-to-grave health care, generous parental leave policies, link seamless social services.
Of course, they pay the taxes that support those things.
They also have almost universally unionized teachers who work a fraction of the time US teachers do and are higher paid relative to other professions than US teachers are.
Say, that last paragraph sounds like it could be the foundation of real school reform that works.
Obviously then, it will not be tried in this country on any widespread basis.
Reform that works would undermine the agenda to de-professionalize teachers, pay them less, make them subject to arbitrary and capricious personnel decisions.
A huge percentage of the cause of poverty is single parenthood and men not staying with women.
These men used to be Gary, eliminating child poverty would be a good thing, but the concern is adults manipulating the system, saying no child can be poor, I have a child, therefore I can be guaranteed a minimum level of income throughout many years of adulthood while not guaranteeing they will provide a decent effort.
A huge percentage of the cause of poverty is single parenthood and men not staying with women.
These men used to be outcasts but are now socially accepted and other women will date and remarry them.
It would be hard to go back to these men being called upon properly.
If we could eliminate single parenthood and have the ethics of before, it would reduce childhood poverty more than government programs, and this was the case for many decades.
No fault, yet extreme damage to an innocent.
These nations, you forget to mention, watch far less TV and read and study more.
I believe teachers work more hours there also.
Kids spend way more time in school and studying and avoid summer learning loss.
Asian kids do better in poverty than whites with upper middle class incomes.
Every child has a roof, healthcare and free lunch, minimum food, and free tutoring and libraries in SF.
In fact, 39 kids at Lowell are homeless and they have to do 20-25 hours a week of homework minimum while living in shelters.
Of the 41, 28 are on free lunch.
It is possible, but it takes putting school 1.
Most longstanding Americans who are poor put school very low, below looking cool, watching TV, friendships often with bad influences, sports, and many other things.
Even the middle class has an anti-intellectual philosophy.
Europe has some in poverty or near poverty as well.
Basically we have to be for letting bad teachers stay on for decades and ignoring those who do excel while in poverty, ignore effort, or be accused of wanting to privatize all education and put it in the hands of billionaires.

Free parking in their garage.
If the elevators takes too long you can take the stairs.
They have a shuttle for the Cabazon outlets, complimentary when you go to guest when did riverboat gambling start />They have some other smaller restaurants: one coffee shop and another Asian cuisine.
Rooms: more spacious that Vegas.
They did give us two bottles of water for free.
It had a coffee machine with pods for tea which was nice.
They also have a gym that I didn't utilize.
Casino: I don't gamble much.
I do agree it does have a heavy smoke smell.
On New Year's Day there we're lines just to exchange money.
It really depends when people go.
I live in Palm Springs but drive out to the Casino for their buffet.
There selection is huge!
If you sign up as a member they also offer you a discount.
Amazing selection definitely recommend.
Stale cupcakes and a free pen on their 15th anniversary don't make up for being surrounded by SMOKERS at the slot machines.
When is ownership going to finally understand that 75% plus of adults now are non-smokers and don't want to breath that disgusting smoke, nor do we want it on our clothes and in our hair.
They are still thriving.
So, DO the right thing and eliminate all types of smoking including vaping from your and all other casinos and maybe more of us will return or come more often.
We were heading towards our desert oasis getaway desert home for the day and decided to stop byget something to eat and gamble a little.
I've driven by this casino numerous times but I have only went inside this casino twice.
Honestly, when I look over at this casino from the 10 freeway I always think of this place as a Las Vegas wannabe.
I know that's a TERRIBLE thought and maybe I shouldn't say that but I DON'T frequent the Casinos in SO CAL because of my mindsetthere's only one Las Vegas and this isn't it folks.
The property itself is nice.
The people working here are friendly and cordial.
The casino offers all of different gaming options - the ones that are legal in California.
The slot machines are really tightdon't expect to win hereyou may get lucky though you never know.
To me there's just something missing here.
The place just doesn't have the same vibe or atmosphere found in Las Vegas.
If you want to experience a typical casino in SO CAL this might be a good choice for you.
It is easily seen off the 10 freeway going to and from the Palm Springs area.
They don't bother to tell you that half the casino is closed to replace the disgusting carpet.
Which means you need to wait at least an hour if you want a seat at any table game.
Pretty lame to book a room at a casino please click for source and not be able to play.
Told a "manager" who couldn't care less.
Stay home, you'll have a better time.
The commercials of well dressed patrons having fun is a bad joke.
The Holiday family meet up dinner at The Morongo buffet was a welcome surprise.
We were not expecting much from a buffet style dinner especially on such a busy night.
But the staff was pleasant prompt and courteous.
Price was a market rate with a slight discount with your players card.
The meal selections were buffet typical.
But all done very well.
Large carving station, and all the standards.
Bring a large appetite there is a lot to choose from and save room for desert.
Very nice job Morongo.
We will definitely see you again.
We went New Years Eve early, we wanted to have fun and then come home.
Well to our surprise because you have to pay for drinks at the poker machines we did.
Then we went to another bar to gamble and got charged for 11 drinks when we know we only had 3 each.
We had lunch and gambled some more, went shopping and the next day we looked at our receipts and credit card charges and saw that You should never use a Credit Card to pay for anything but your room here.
Very disappointed and PLEASE people check your Statements.
I've been going to Morongo to play slots for over 15 years as an alternative for Vegas, and now I will probably quit going there.
I used to go there about once a month before because the surrounding areas are nice compare to San Manuel bad surroundings, no hoteland it is the closest casino resort from LA.
I maintain mid level VIP, and I get the comp rooms and food credit etc.
I tried single, double, triple bet, nothing works.
Also, the customer service has been declined at machines.
They don't have enough servers for drink services, cleaning.
Many people were putting off continue reading cigarettes on the floor or machine, and so dirty.
I also asked the housekeeping lady for extra towels and soap, she was so moody.
If we want more benefits, we can play online called GoPlay, but can only use them 1 per month.
Aqua Caliente has better shows for my generation.
I would say, if we go there once a year for some occasion, it's not bad at all, but if you plan to go there often to gamble, I don't know.
I'm not a gambler at all since I hate losing my hard-earned money.
I came here just for the buffet and to check out the hotel room where some friends were staying.
I was impressed with each of the above.
It was certainly not the best buffet dinner I've ever been to, but they had quite a selection including prime rib the night I was there and nothing to complain about.
Bonus that the staff working here from the front desk to the servers were all very friendly.
That goes a long way to me.
The hotel room had an awesome view of the mountain range and the room was a bit nicer than expected.
I understand parking can be an issue at this resort but hopefully once their new construction project is done, there will be more parking.
I must have lucked out because I found someone pulling out in the very first parking lane next to the entrance!
The construction going on here is affecting the chances of customers to win any decent money.
It is a disgrace that if everyone averages 100-400 per person 0 % is the payback for Regulars.
Casino security is snide, and not intellectually equipped to handle even the the most simple guest interactions.
I won't be back Spent a night on my own- immediately won a little cash that kept me playing all night.
This is my second time here.
Again, I really appreciate the truck parking!
The shuttle was great and I had a fun little golf cart ride.
We will keep coming back to donate our funds lol.
They are under renovation, which is fine, but they only had one woman's bathroom in the casino area open.
Fast service, friendly staff.
Slots are not giving money back.
All the slots machine.
Every is stress and not helpful.
Not enough staff to handle issue.
Guest are upset and Go here Casino, does not care.
If you leave, you lose all your Money to the casino.
Win win for Morengo.
Lose lose for all of us.
This 5 star rating goes to a supervisor of the rewards I think by the name of david.
About three weeks ago I was at the morongo on a Tuesday and I waited till midnight to receive my 25.
I came to the morongo today to play my free play plus the 25.
Come to find out it expired on uk gambling law changes 1st of this month.
I asked to speak to a manager but a supervisor came instead.
He listened to what I had to say.
He said he didn't understand why I was told 30 days but he went on the computer and worked his magic and loaded the 25.
Morongo you have a fine gentleman working for you.
Thank you so very much David for not giving me a hard time and that you made things right Waste of time, it's far and u will loose all ur money.
Everyone I kno that go here looses it's rigged for u to loose DenzeL day said it Stay away from casino morongo next to the bowling alley.
The machines are so tight it's ridiculous.
I did not see anybody winning just losing.
Save your money and go somewhere else.
At least, in las vegas downtown you get free alcoholic beverages free.
Great buffet for a casino.
We have tried most and the Lobster is far better then the others.
You can choose a whole lobster or just the lobster tails.
We went for the tails and dipped them in the butter.
I wasn't counting but after 6 I started to get full and the steak was well seasoned.
I enjoyed them cooked no more than medium.
I really can't comment on the other food items because I didn't have room I really wanted the lobster and I wasn't let down.
After a little time out I found room for some Cream Brule to finish.
My granddaughter enjoyed her meal as well as the rest of our party.
Our server brought our drinks to the table and was always checking on us asking if we needed something.
Today is prime rib it's Sunday.
The bad: Parking is a freaking nightmare.
I regularly go to Vegas or other casinos in CA and never have I ever been to a casino or a casino parking lot so packed I also regularly go to Vegas on New Years and even that's not as crowded as this.
You're lucky if there is a slot machine or table game you want to play available or anything in fact.
The lines to the elevators are long and people will literally show up after you and enter the elevator before you and even leave you behind.
People also don't respect personal space.
They will be all up on you.
There is also only https://tayorindustry.com/gambling/ohio-sports-gambling.html casino club kiosks so expect a wait.
We also parked upstairs, and while walking to the elevator click here passed by so many people messing around in the parking lot.
The good: Despite the tremendous number of people, they keep this place CLEAN.
We passed the food court and I didn't see any trash, and the tables are kept clean 6 year old gambling in california one table had leftover drinks on it.
With the number of people who come here, it's impressive how they keep this space clean.
A worker named AUBREE tried to help me but was incredibly rude!
What kind of business employs these type of ghetto disrespectful people!
First time at this Casino.
From all the commercials I've seen.
I was expecting a vegas resort.
But what I walked into was something different.
We went to the Buffet which was delicious.
The only non smelling like cigarette place.
Outside the buffet area.
It smelled like cigarettes!
If you have asthma this isn't the place for you.
My clothes, hair smelled like smoke.
It would have been an different experience if it was a smoke free casino.
Offering premier Las Vegas-style gaming a world away from Vegas, but less than 90 miles from Los Angeles, our luxury California hotel and casino invites guests to experience the thrill of gaming alongside revitalizing pursuits in spa and wellness, fine dining and legendary entertainment.

A very generous 2-stars for my recent visit to the stinky, smoke soaked Morongo Casino.
I went there on Labor Day to have the all you can eat buffet, but the line was sooooo long that I didn't want to wait an hour to get to the front.
When I told one of the workers there that there was a serious situation, they just said "Oh, well, this happens all the time.
WHY is this area not expanded or simply moved to a larger area to be able to accommodate the hungry hordes?
As if all of the above was not bad enough, it took me 30 minutes to go ONE mile from the casino to the freeway on-ramp, as the horrific design of the round-about traffic circle is the worst I have ever seen.
What genius ever approved this disastrous solution to this mass traffic volume?
What really frosts a LOT of people is the fact that IF you come before 2 p.
I'm paying more than DOUBLE for arriving 2 hours later than someone else on the same day!.
It took about 30 minutes to get seated despite a modest line.
There were a lot of groups of 6 to 10 that seemed to slow things down.
Parents, grandparents and kiddies were the norm.
And, the big problem is that the servers do NO Policing of the bratty kids that just run wild thru the isles and crawl all over the carpets.
Obviously the parents could care less and just tune the kids out, but the are dozens of other diners eating who would love some peace and quiet.
WHY do the servers do ZERO to get the situation under control?
I will NOT be returning to this place unless it is to eat at the 24-hour Fatburger in the fast food section, that also has a Panda Express and Subway.
I've driven by this casino numerous times but I have only went inside this casino twice.

SECURITY AT MORONGO WEST TODAY.
I went into the ladies bathroom washed my hands, went into stall, did what I had to do, as I walked out a young hispanic girl millenial turns and elbows me as I pass by source, doesnt say excuse me nor anything.
I passed by and then asked her did you just hit me on purpose?
And I said "no", you pull the video for this area and go see who they are for yourself, and he insisted that I point them out, and I said "NO way" im not getting beat up, after you walk away from me.
I have been coming to this Casino since 2013.
Then I found my husband made him quit playing and went to cashing machines and security came to me with a 2nd security and wanted me to go point them out, and I said NO, im was raised in Los Angeles, I know how it works, im not getting killed or beat up.
You guys need to watch the people, the young people.
They actually assigned one to follow me today.
So now I am being harrased.
Other here sitting near me were hitting on poker left and right and they were sending 4 employees pretending to be talking and they would stop right behind the customers that were winning.
Well, they the customers didnt last long after that.
Well they got rid of the keystone cop and replaced him.
The slots still awful.
Everyone walking around with long faces.
And hired actors scream when they win a few dollars.
Something you never hardly hear there.
All the games have their free plays set up to the lowest bets.
And most free plays completely shut off.
Not a good experience at all people.
And he goes around calling in Hot Machines.
Dont waste your money here either.

Thank you so very much David for not giving me a hard time and that you made things right I know morongo casino is under construction but be real.
The coffee shop serrano was so much better then what you put I think the game stop.
It may look nice, I haven't gone in to actually sit in and order, does not attract me or the people I was with.
I decided to look at the menu and half of what was on the old menu was removed.
On the old menu there were simple comfort food and now you have things on your menu that dont attract us and I'm sure we are not the only ones.
